Disc Golf at Bluewater Bay

Bluewater now has 9 high-quality disc golf baskets installed and ready for play on the old “Lake” Golf Course holes 1,2,3, and 9. Parking at the clubhouse at 2000 Bluewater Blvd gives easy access to holes 1 and 9. There is a small paved parking area across from hole #3 on Bluewater Bay Blvd for 1 or 2 cars. Please do not park on the median. Access to all holes is available via the Lake Course cart path.

Lake holes 1-3 currently have 6 baskets and hole 9 has 3 baskets. You can see a map of the Disc Course layout and access paths for each hole below:

Ways To Play Disc Golf at Bluewater Bay

The holes can be played in a clockwise loop starting and finishing at the clubhouse. Note that is a pretty long walk from basket 6 (on hole 3) to the basket 7 tee-box (on hole 9), including a short stroll along Bluewater Blvd. Or, you can just play however many holes you want using an “out and back” fashion. Play is still very informal.

We plan to have a free “loaner box” with some discs at some point down the road but until then, you’ll need to provide your own.

It’s an easy game to figure out. Here is a YouTube video to get your started:

Bring your discs, grab a basket and play! It’s a great way to hang out with family of all ages and have a fun afternoon outside. Go check it out!

A Community Uniting

This land is now greenspace ONLY and no longer used as part of Bluewater Bay Golf since the land was purchased by Bluewater residents in 2024. This greenspace will NEVER be developed or used for golf – it can only be used as recreation open space. The land is managed by a community organization, Preserve Bluewater Bay.

Steve Duresky, a longterm Bluewater Bay resident, approached the Preserve Bluewater Bay Board with the idea of starting a disc golf course. The board unanimously approved the idea! (These are all great folks!). Steve and his wife, Sharon, bought the first 9 target baskets (“holes”), and installed them with the help of Mr. Craig Hamilton, who has designed and installed several other disc golf courses in Okaloosa County.

More Baskets / Signage Still Needed

Want to help? Additional baskets and signage are still needed. We have room to add 5 more baskets to make 14 total for a better playing experience as donations come in, at which time we’ll “compress” the current layout. It’s a work in progress.

The baskets cost a little under $500 each. Due to pricey shipping (the baskets are very high quality and HEAVY!), we will only order new baskets in increments of 3 minimum.
